Over the past few years I’ve cleared out my makeup collection to focus on cruelty free beauty brands. I didn’t have an obvious go-to favorite matte bullet lipstick until recently when I discovered these Milani Color Fetish Matte Lipsticks. At first, the chic quilted packaging drew me in. Then they were sold out for a while so I couldn’t get my hands on them. This year they’re a little easier to find! Now I have 4 colors, and at least 1 is in my handbag at all times. It’s a creamy matte formula lipstick that’s so easy to wear. It’s my new favorite go-to everyday lipstick. Here are the shades I love and everything else you need to know about the affordable cruelty free drugstore makeup line!
Shop on ULTA, Target, Walmart, & Amazon
Shades
There are two main color collections for this line currently: the Nudes Collection and the Flora Collection. Each of these lines have 6 shades each. The following shades are shown left to right in the above photo. Notice how much I’ve used of the first color!
- Peony (Flora): pink nude
- Petal (Flora): rosy pink
- Tease (Nudes): mid-tone neutral nude
- Pleasure (Nudes): light peachy nude
Finish
These lipsticks have a luxurious velvety matte finish that’s opaque in color in one swipe. Not transfer proof, but comfortable enough to reapply all day long!
Ingredients
This lipstick line is not only cruelty free, but also vegan. The scent is like a sweet creamy vanilla Easy Bake Oven type scent.
Price
These lipsticks currently are priced at $8.99. Find them online or in-store. I tend to see them in stock most often at Walmart.
In short, if you like pinks, nudes, and all the various specific variations of pinky nudes, I highly recommend this collection. I don’t think my swatches really do them enough justice as to how pretty they really are.
These lipsticks look very similar to the oil-infused Milani Color Fetish Balms, which come in very similar packaging to the Color Fetish Matte Lipsticks. I also love the balms, but they’re more of a sheer lustrous look. I have one in the shade Lustful, which is a warm peachy nude color. These are also a vegan formula. The packaging is nearly identical to the matte lipsticks, so pay close attention to the “Milani” logo band across the bullet. If it’s black, it’s one of the balms. However if it’s gold, it’s one of the lipsticks.
Have you tried this Milani lipstick line yet? Do you have any other Milani favorites? Let us all know in a comment below. I personally want to try a lot more from the line. Milani definitely delivers that high end beauty experience at a drugstore makeup price point.
