Need some quick travel recommendations for a short trip to Atlanta? Let me help you out! I was in Atlanta a year or so ago for a wedding, and while we didn’t have a whole lot of time to spare in our itinerary, we were still able to squeeze in seeing some of the top attractions in Atlanta. With the help of Uber and rental scooters, getting around town is a breeze and you can still see a lot of the top attractions in Atlanta without renting a car.
Here are my top recommendations on what to see, eat, and do in Atlanta on a brief trip or layover. Even if you only have 24 hours in Atlanta, here’s a realistic list of a few fun things you can experience.
Top Things To Do in Atlanta
- Atlanta Botanical Garden: one of the best botanical gardens I’ve ever been to. Enjoy some fresh air while walking around the expansive gardens, seeing plant life from all over the world. The tropical greenhouse was my favorite area, naturally!
- Ponce City Market: this is a one-stop-shop for dining, shopping, and entertainment. The expansive multi-level complex has restaurants, tech offices, co-working space, retail, and so much more. The Roof is a must for cocktails, carnival games, and an amazing city view.
- Delta Flight Museum: travel and aviation nerds, this place is for us! Tour retired aircrafts and historic flight artifacts right next door to Delta HQ. This airline museum is a wealth of aviation history. The museum is something both kids and adults can enjoy.
- World of Coca-Cola: take the tour and taste Coke products from all over the world! If you’re a fan of pop culture or history, you’ll love seeing the history of the Coca-Cola Company, including their many iconic marketing campaigns, sponsorships, and events they’ve taken part in over the last 100+ years.
Have you been to Atlanta before? I would love to go back and explore all the amazing BBQ restaurants and cocktail bars still on my list. I would love to also see the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park and State Capitol Building on my next visit. If you have any Atlanta recommendations, please let me know.
