Ever since my no-buy announcement last year, I’ve gotten a great response. I’ve even carried essentially the same rules into 2018. The only makeup I’ve bought lately has been to replenish products I’m totally out of. But even as a beauty blogger, I’m susceptible to the hype. I wanted to chat about a few new beauty products that have piqued my interest lately. So far I have no plans to buy these items, and I haven’t yet tried them either. Here are a couple of exciting new beauty releases at the top of my wish list.
Milk Makeup Kush High Volume Mascara
I’ve been in mascara purgatory lately, and I’m someone with no patience for mediocre mascara. I have been layering up 2-3 mascaras on the daily, patiently waiting to see if the formula on any of them will improve enough to become my one and only. This mascara has a vegan formula with CBD oil rather than beeswax, a substitution totally new to the beauty industry. The tube is also made from one continuous sheet of aluminum. From the few demos I’ve seen from other content creators, this mascara looks extremely lengthening and thickening.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette
This eyeshadow palette is the new must-have palette for any neutral eyeshadow lover. Supposedly the shadow formulas are identical to ABH’s Modern Renaissance palette, which is a longtime Sephora best seller. This palette has a few shades that overlap with Modern Renaissance, and since I don’t own that palette, Soft Glam appears to be a much more wearable and practical purchase.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter
I certainly don’t need another champagne gold highlighter, but I can’t stop thinking about this one. Something about the visually appealing wavy pan design and the soft sheen finish speaks to me. It gives me the impression that this highlighter can be both extremely wearable or extra glam. ABH and Amrezy both really know their stuff when it comes to highlights!
Cover FX Power Play Foundation
This foundation comes in an impressive array of 40 different shades, including diverse undertones. It’s supposed to have full coverage and a modern matte finish, perfect for oily-to-combination skin. My makeup collection is currently missing a strong full coverage foundation, and this sounds like it could be a good contender. I’ll definitely be asking for a sample of this next time I’m in Sephora.
St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water
New innovation from my favorite self-tanner brand. St. Tropez now has a clear tanning product that is supposed to reduce the risk of getting residue on your clothes or sheets. As a busy and always on-the-go person, this product appeals to me. A tanning water sounds like something I can slap on before an event and not have to wear all black, as per usual with standard self-tanning mousse.
Tom Ford Vanille Fatale
I haven’t spent money on fragrance in a long time, but I always have to spray some Tom Ford perfume on anytime I go in Sephora. This new release caught my eye since it’s supposed to have spicy woody notes atop a warm vanilla base. To me, that sounds like the epitome of a sexy perfume. I could probably never easily swallow the pricetag, but a girl can dream!
What’s currently on your Sephora Loves List or general beauty wish list? I would love to know in a comment below. Thanks for reading, and happy shopping!
The Anastasia eye palette is gorgeous! Those colors are so perfect–I definitely have to check that out!
That palette is gorgeous! I love all your choices.
So many goodies! The Anastasia x Amrezy Highlighter looks STUNNING, but I have so many similarly coloured highlighters already. I’m still super tempted haha. Their eyeshadow looks so pretty, too. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. Good on you for staying strong and sticking to your no-buy rule! You should be proud (I definitely don’t have that amount of self-control haha). x
Love the colors of the Anastasia eyeshadow palette. Love natural colored shades.
Great list! I would loooove to try that Kush mascara. I’m going to look for it. Thanks for sharing.
I can’t wait to try that mascara because I haven’t been able to find one that really makes my eyes pop! Thank you for sharing this list!
I’m dying to try that mascara! I’ve heard great things!
