For the next installment of my what to wear to series, let’s talk Disneyland and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge! I went to Disneyland this month for the first time in over 15 years and I was so pumped to experience everything Star Wars. Practically all of it was new to me, including redone Star Tours in Tomorrowland which is an old school Star Wars favorite. My outfit worked out incredibly well with the unpredictable sunny yet mostly overcast and windy spring weather we were having in Anaheim in early March.
I feel like it was the perfect mix of my style and an ode to my love of Star Wars, without going overboard and spending too much money. I don’t go to Disney enough to buy clothes just for that! I’m not a hardcore Disney adult, just someone who was excited to visit the parks after over a decade. So wanted to share what I wore to potentially help others decide on what to wear and what to pack.
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Outfit Ideas
Star Wars x Disney ears
Let’s take it from the top, literally. I found these super fun sith inspired Star Wars ears perfect for my first trip to Galaxy’s Edge. The seller allows you to customize the look too with the sequin bow either in red, black, or gunmetal, or no bow at all. I went with gunmetal to have a nice contrast with my hair color, while keeping on the mostly black color palette. The ears feature 3D printed discs for Mickey ears, with the death star on one side and a silhouette of Darth Vader on the other.
Cropped tank
This Vuori crop tank has a high neck and a cute and trendy cut, with the most insanely soft fabric you will ever touch. It’s lined with removable cups, and pretty nicely supportive. I wore my leather jacket most of the day so this was the perfect base layering piece. It got super chilly in the evening and almost rained, so I ended up buying a Disneyland Resort Spirit Jersey to layer over this top. It worked out perfectly.
Straight leg jeans
I wanted to be comfortable and wear a pair of jeans that wouldn’t be too tight or suffocate me when climbing in and out of rides. This straight leg pair from Good American in my current fave. They’re old from the NSale last year, but you can find similar high waist, stretchy, and straight leg options from a lot of different brands.
Belt bag
For any theme park days, a belt bag is a must! This one has a few compartments for my phone, eye drops, and other small items. I also easily slid in two external battery packs and a few snacks, plus my wallet, hand sanitizer, epi-pen, and emergency medicine pack.
Leather moto jacket
I wear this old Zara vegan leather jacket everywhere, including travel. I just love the moto cut and it’s a little thicker and warmer than a bomber or utility jacket. It has functional pockets, too. You can find a style like this from so many different brands.
Sunglasses
Cute sunglasses are must for me, wherever I go. These rectangle ones are nice and slim so I was able to easily slip them into my pockets when going on rides. I originally bought these in beige but loved them so much I had to get another color.
Comfortable sneakers
Comfortable sneakers are a non negotiable. This is probably the most important piece of the outfit because comfort comes before all else on long travel and theme park days. I walked over 27k steps during my one day at the park. It was a long day; I wore them from 6:30am to 11:30pm. So consider packing a pair of neutral colored sneakers that are already broken in. Bonus points if you can wear them on the plane too so they don’t take up space in your luggage. And don’t forget some nice supportive athletic socks!

Maybe next time I go I’ll do something more along the lines of Disneybounding a Star Wars character, but it all depends on what closet cosplay I can string together. Princess Leia would be an easy pick, but we will see!
In conclusion, this is an easy Star Wars inspired outfit you can wear to any of the Disney parks which you may be able to source entirely from your closet already. The ears are just the main focal accessory. And with a cohesive color palate, the outfit really all comes together seamlessly.
