I’ve taken it slow on blogging this month, but for good reason. We’ve had some busy schedules and tight deadlines at work recently, and this week my company has earned some fabulous press to show for it. In addition to that, June was a really busy social month for me, packed with lots of birthdays, shows, and concerts. So needless to say, I’ve been running around a lot and putting in some early mornings and long nights.
Recently I’ve been sticking to a basic beauty routine and relying on staple accessories like my favorite purse and sunglasses for every occasion. Some key tech goodies are absolute essentials as well, like my portable external New Trent iPhone battery that I never leave home without. I don’t know about you, but it seems like my iPhone is always on the brink of dying, so with that battery I can charge my phone on the go, with no need for a power outlet. Proper skin care goes without saying, so I make sure to apply ample eye cream both AM and PM to soothe and alleviate my tired eyes. If I’m running low on sleep, which is more often than not, that’s where my brightening concealer comes in. The pink concealer shade helps to correct the dark circles I’m plagued with. Since I don’t have time to wash and dry my hair every morning, a good blow out that will last a few days is imperative. For this I’ve been using my brand new tourmaline ceramic T3 dryer and my compact teasing brush stays with me at all time. Since I’m always on the go, earbuds never leave my handbag and my Klipsch Audio S4is are great at delivering solid depth of sound and providing noise cancellation. Because I don’t always have time for polish changes, I always use my Seche Vite top coat to help my manicures last long and dry to strong glossy finish in a jiffy. Between selling old stuff on eBay and trips to the post office, I have a Sharpie pen on me at all times. You seriously never know when those will come in handy. Lastly, since SF is such a small and densely populated city, it’s important I’m ready to stop and chit chat with an old friend or colleague I bump into on the street. That’s why it’s really important I have fresh breath so I don’t feel awkward or rushed. I never leave home without a pack of my favorite peppermint chewing gum and peppermint lip balm. Similarly, if I don’t have time to blot or powder my skin, I’ve just been reaching for my rosewater toning mist which helps to refresh and mattify my skin. That toning mist is all natural and makes me feel like new.
These are just some of my favorite things that help me prepare for any situation thrown at me. For your busiest days and nights, what products or items never leave your sight? Tell me what are your work week essentials in a comment below.
