It’s time for another monthly beauty round-up! This month I enjoyed some of the new products I splurged on for my birthday. Also since turning a year older, I’ve been paying that much more attention to my skin care routine and looking for products and ingredients to help prevent and treat signs of aging. There may be no fountain of youth, but I have found a few products that are inexpensive and effective. Let’s just remind ourselves that consistency is key! Here’s all that I was obsessing over this past month:
Crown Brush Contour Brush
Also known as the C437 PRO Domed Blender brush, I’ve been reaching for this Crown Brush to set my undereye concealer. While it’s also fantastic at contouring, the fluffy bristles and fanned out dome shape make this a perfect brush to pick up and lightly dust setting powder over my concealer. I find that it picks up just the right amount and gently applies it evenly. I want to buy a second brush soon so I can always have a clean one on hand.
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed
My sister surprised me with this blush that was on my wish list for so long and I’m enjoying it so much! Exposed is a gorgeous tan-mauve shade that is extremely flattering on many skin tones, and that’s complimentary to any eye or lip look. It’s hard to find something it clashes with. The blush just gives you a warm yet subtle flushed look. Not to mention, it actually lives up to its name and lasts all day. This blush might be the start of a very expensive habit, seeing as I now want to try all the other shades from the line.
Sinful Colors Nail Polish in 24/7
If you’re looking for the perfect fluorescent pink nail polish, this is it. This neon pink is a “dupe” for Essie’s famed Pink Parka that came out a few years ago. It’s a stunning neon pink that has pretty much been my signature pedicure all month long. This shade even magically makes your feet appear more tan!
Derma E Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid
While I have oily to combination skin, I know that oily skin can easily become dehydrated. When oily skin is dehydrated, it can start to overproduce oil and make matters worse, so that’s why I recently invested in this hydrating serum from Derma E. This product makes my skin feel balanced and the hyaluronic acid helps it retain more moisture. This is a rather affordable serum I discovered on Vitacost, and I love that it’s paraben-free! Well hydrated skin ages better and this product is supposed to be good for both reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as preventing them.
MyChelle Dermaceuticals Fruit Enzyme Scrub
This is another item I discovered through Vitacost on my quest for more natural and paraben-free skin care. Just going off reviews alone, I wasn’t quite sure how powerful this scrub would be but I was pleasantly surprised. While there is a physical exfoliant in this scrub, I think the enzymes do most of the work. After leaving the scrub on for 3-5 minutes in the shower, it’ll leave your skin super soft and renewed. Trust me, you’ll feel the tingle and know the enzymes are working. I recommend introducing this into your routine once a week, and then graduating up to twice a week.
Now European Clay Powder
This clay mask is no joke; it really helps detoxify your skin. I love that it’s just a pure clay powder that you only need to mix with water to activate. I’ve been loving using this once a week to help deep clean my pores and dry out any acne I have. When it dries, it’s nearly impossible to flex your face muscles so it’s pretty heavy duty for a natural product. For dry skin, you can actually substitute water with jojoba oil or lavender essential oil to get a more hydrating and purifying mask.
