Things are heating up here in Sonoma County and my desire to spend time outdoors is immense. I was recently inspired to try my hand at making boozy popsicles, and I thought about what type of stuff I could use from things I already had around the house. Then Jardesca instantly popped up in my mind. Jardesca is a delicious apertif made from wine and inspired by the gardens of California. If you’re familiar it’s sort of similar to Lillet, but with a little something extra with its botanical bouquet. It’s 18% ABV and only 99 calories per 3 oz serving. It tastes great on the rocks with a fresh garnish, killer in cocktails, but I wondered how it’d do in a boozy popsicle recipe. I tested a few different concepts before narrowing it down to the following boozy popsicle recipe.
I think these boozy popsicles are the perfect refreshing summer treat while you enjoy more time at home this spring and summer. You can order all of these items online, so you don’t even need to leave your house. Please enjoy responsibly!
Boozy Popsicle Ingredients & Tools
- Jardesca
- 7UP
- Fresh Basil
- Popsicle Molds
Boozy Popsicle Recipe
- Pour equal parts Jardesca & 7Up in popsicle mold
- Sprinkle in fresh chopped basil
- Freeze for 4+ hours
For best results, freeze overnight and enjoy these in the sun. If they come out a little too icy, play with the ratio of booze to soda a little bit. These will melt pretty quickly, so adjust the recipe as you like. If you feel even more inspired, maybe try adding in finely chopped berries or edible flowers to the popsicles too. Get creative and test this out with other herbs, too! I’ve been enjoying these boozy popsicles while relaxing in my backyard a lot lately, chilling in my adult sized kiddie pool.
