A few days ago I came out with this post which may have come across as a bit of a rant. While there are a lot of products we hear of that get us caught up in the buzz, more often than not I’ve discovered the ones that totally meet and exceed my expectations. There are honestly just a handful of duds, and the winners totally outnumber them. If you’re an internet addict like me, you can hear about these products first from bloggers and vloggers, so it’s not coming from a salesperson’s or advertiser’s perspective. Here are my top five items that are totally worth the hype, all of which I discovered first online!
CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation
I’ve featured this item on this blog a lot, but it continually blows me away! It’s opaque, blendable, and provides awesome, longwearing coverage. I wear shade Buff Beige 825 which is a near perfect match. This is a fantastic foundation for someone who needs good coverage, makeup that lasts all day, and a dash of SPF 20.
MAC ProLongwear Concealer in NW20
This is another repeat feature on my blog because it’s just that awesome. This is one of the only undereye concealers that I’ve tried that does not settle in fine lines and wrinkles. The formula is super pigmented yet still thin and blendable. This is a very blogged about item, and I totally concur with the hype!
MAC Paint Pot in Painterly
Painterly Paint Pot is a product I’ve heard tons of hype about since I started reading beauty blogs and watching beauty videos on YouTube. I’ve gone through 2-3 containers of this product, so obviously I’m a fan. Lately I’ve been using it every single day since I’ve been going for matte eyes, but this color works with anything. It’s super versatile, helping your eyeshadows better adhere evenly on your eyelid and last all day.
Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in #13 Warm Beige
This is another great eyeshadow base that helps your eyeshadow appear more vibrant and last all day. The great thing about the MUFE Aqua Creams is that the formula is thinner than a MAC Paint Pot, so it’s a bit easier to apply and blend. This shade is a gorgeous shimmery pink champagne color that instantly brings light to my eyes. While they run a little more expensive than the Paint Pots, you can often find Aqua Creams in Sephora holiday gift sets which will save you some money.
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed
People are probably tired of hearing me rave about this product so much, but I have to give it some love yet again. Everything about this blush is worth the hype. The dusty tan-mauve color, the chemical-free ingredients, and the incredible 12-hour wear… I adore it and I reach for it nearly everyday. This is a pricier blush, yes, but it out performs anything in my collection. There’s a whole host of colors in this line, so I fear this blush may start an expensive habit!
It was pretty tough to narrow this down to only five items, but I have many more items on the backlog for a follow-up video and blog post. Please let me know something you’ve tried that’s hands down worth the hype so I can check it out.
