July was a super busy month for me. Not only did I celebrate a birthday, I spent a lot of time with friends, and work was absolutely busy given all the recent news lately! Keep up with me on Instagram for a full recap of the month, which included trips to the CA State Fair, shooting range, and several fun shopping sprees. Here are all the beauty products I finished up over the past month while I was enjoying life:
LUSH Dream Cream
This is an alright body lotion in my opinion; I just wasn’t head over heels crazy for it. Smelled delightful, like oatmeal and lavender, and was easily spread and blended into the skin. I’d recommend this product for anyone looking for a more natural body cream.
Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream (c/o)
I knew when I recieved this product it wasn’t for me. This is an extremely thick night cream meant for dry and dehydrated skin. The cream is way too thick, hard to blend, and does not absorb well; it just kind of smears and sits on top of the skin. I ended up using this up as a hand cream!
Benefit The POREfessional
This is a fantastic primer that can be applied either on top of or underneath makeup to help smooth out your skin surface and pores. I love this product, but I just can’t justify the cost right now.
L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara
This is my all time favorite drugstore mascara, that has made multiple appearances on my YouTube channel and blog. It’s rich, intense, and extremely volumizing. It’s also cheap and easy to find at the drugstore. It’s everything I look for in a mascara!
Johnson’s Baby Shampoo
While I would never use this for my hair, I religiously use the ‘no more tears’ shampoo to deep cleanse my makeup brushes. It lathers well and keeps the brush bristles nice and soft. Using this solely for brush deep cleanses, a bottle of this stuff lasts forever!
Scentsational Tropical Soy Candle
I scored this candle at TJ Maxx and I loved every minute of it. I totally recommend dropping in TJ Maxx every now and then to find great, affordable soy wax candles like this one by Scentsational. It smelled light and fruity; just perfect.
Opti-Free RepleniSH Multi-Purpose Disinfection Solution
As a dedicated contact lense wearer, I clear through a bottle of this every month or two. Glasses give me a headache, especially with my long days, so I say ‘contacts FTW’!
Deep Steep Argan Oil Warm Vanilla Coconut Scrub
While I loved this scrub, I hated the packaging. You know the scurbs that are equal parts abrasive and moisturizing? Well this one’s it! And it smelled absolutely divine. I also enjoyed that this was paraben-free. I would totally buy it again if it was only packed in a jar!
Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque
This is probably my favorite hair mask of all time, and I really do think it’s worth the price. A tub will last you six months or more if you don’t have a lot of hair or your hair isn’t very damaged. This product really helps my hair look and feel its best.
L’Oreal Evercreme Intense Nourishing Conditioner
For the first time ever, I’ve found a drugstore conditioner I’m really pleased with. The Evercreme line is not only sulfate-free, but also free of heavy waxes that can weigh fine hair like mine down. This product smells amazing and works wonders. Definitely something to try if you’re in the market for a new hair conditioner.
Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips
When I don’t use this product, you can tell. My nose just appears so much more congested with blackheads when I slack off and don’t use this once a week. This is a cult favorite beauty product that you have to see to believe. Works miracles at clearing up congested pores.
Trader Joe’s Pure Jojoba Oil
Did you know jojoba oil can be used as a makeup remover? And it’s a cheap and natural one, to boot. I pick this up at my local Trader Joe’s since it’s easy and 100% pure. Give it a shot if you’re making the switch to more natural skin care.
Up & Up Shave Gel with Soy
I’ve finally found a shave gel I like, but the only problem is that it’s not sold online and it’s practically always sold out in store. In any case, this is a thick and creamy shave gel that really feels like it’s conditioning your skin to give a closer and safer shave. It has an oddly nostaglic smell to it too… it smells like marzipan and Play Dough!
Skintimate SignatureScents Moisturizing Shave Gel in Strawberry Tangerine Twist
Well, I tend to go through a can of shave gel once a month, but this one is no longer the shave gel I prefer. If I’m not stocked up on Up & Up Shave Gel, I default back to this one. Skintimate definitely smells nice, but I’m just so sick of it after using it for 10+ years.
LUSH Snowcake
I’m just not a huge fan of bar soap, so Snowcake didn’t wow me too much. I loved the smell and it was decently mositurizing, it didn’t really do the job like a shower gel would.
Clarisonic Deep Pore Brush Head
This is probably my favorite brush head option for the Clarisonic. I’ll probably buy it again, unless I decide to switch to the acne brush head down the road.
What did you finish up last month that you’re most proud of? If you find these monthly round-ups of product reviews, be sure to check out my empties of months past: June, May, and April!
